The main UNIDOL competition finals finally took place! The last winter edition was held back in February 2020 at the USEN Studio Coast. Then the Covid came by and the 2021 edition was cancelled and the USEN Studio Coast closed down. It was the first time for an UNIDOL event to take place at the Nakano Sun plaza and to mark such beginning the special guest was nonetheless HKT48. Matsuoka Hana doubled as the event MC as well. HKT48 brought twelve members to ignite the scene, performing six songs: “Hayaokuri Calendar“, “Otona Ressya“, “Ishi“, “12byou“, “Totsuzen Do love me!“, “Saikou ka yo“. The girls were dazzling, treated the audience with live singing and a perfect pitch from Hana for HKT48’s last song.
Early this year it was announced that the USEN STUDIO COAST will be closing on January, 30 th 2022. The live house has hosted the UNIDOL Winter edition since 2015. Tears of joy and distress were spilled there. This ultimate stage has represented the hopes and anguishes of every UNIDOL participants. It was only proper to offer to the UNIDOL participants, fans and organizers a chance to say their farewell to the USEN STUDIO COAST. October, 10th 2021 would be the day.
The Fresh edition of UNIDOL welcomes first-time participants to UNIDOL contest to shine on stage. Things are not that simple though. Some girls are coming under the banners of big powerhouses and wield on their shoulders the expectations of their senpais. The SPH mellmuse group is one example of such. The senpais have won the Unidol main competition several times. Anything but 1st place would be lackluster for the girls. UNIDOL FRESH is the stage for these girls to prove their worths and allow them to later stand on the same stage as their senpais at UNIDOL main contest. The event this time was held over two distinct days this year namely and Berry and Citrus edition. First beginning with the secret guests: The Berry secret guest was UP UP GIRLS (2). They performed their debut single “Ni no Hashi Dancing“, “Ryou Omoi no ♡ Shirushi“, “Be Lonely together” and their first 3-single EP “NATSUMEGU” to be released on November, 16th . The girls filled the room with cheers and hyped everyone. Upon closing, they invited the public to come to their one-man live at Zepp Tokyo on November, 26th.
It goes without saying that Go Nagai‘s “Cutie Honey” can be considered as the original Japanese battle heroine, whose story and universe has been adapted in many anime, manga and movies and supported by a loyal fanbase. Now fans will get to discover another adventure of their favorite heroine in a brand-new theater musical, written and scripted by Matsuda Ichidai. “Cutie Honey Emotional” is a musical that combines singing, dancing and action stunts, in a fast-paced entertainment-focused performance introducing the Honey of Reiwa Era.
