From Japan Expo Sud to La Bellevilloise: A Celebration of J-Music in France
J-Music Festival vol.2
Having Japanese artists perform in Paris is still rare, and fans are always eagerly awaiting the next ones. Recently, many Japanese artists have come to perform in France, thanks to the country’s biggest festival dedicated to Japanese culture: Japan Expo.
Among them, four artists set the stages on fire during Japan Expo Sud in Marseille on February 21, 22, and 23. We Named BANZAI JAPAN, UK, ALL IN, and Kang Minsu!
UK and Kang Minsu are both Korean artists, but they live and carry out all their activities in Japan. ALL IN, on the other hand, is a Japanese boy band composed of eight members who debuted in 2021. BANZAI JAPAN also joined the event for their eighth performance in France since their first appearance in Paris back in 2018.
But more than just a festival, the four artists returned to Paris on the morning of February 24—not for the airport, but for another exciting event. That same night, Japan Expo teamed up with the Japanese company ROCK FIELD to organize the second edition of their J-Music Festival at La Bellevilloise in Paris!
It was a highly anticipated night for all fans of Japanese music.
The cover dance crew Namja Project opened the show with a short but powerful five-minute dance performance, setting the stage for Kang Minsu, who ignited the crowd despite being the night’s first performer.
ALL IN kept the energy high with a mix of their own songs and anime covers, including ‘We Are’ from ONE PIECE.
UK followed with his own discography, joined onstage by Namja Project members, who danced alongside him for some songs.
After a short break, BANZAI JAPAN closed the night with an energetic and joyful performance—the perfect finale to this incredible weekend!
This was an amazing night, bringing back the same vibe you experience in Japan when attending a taiban event (対バン – a gathering where multiple idol groups perform back-to-back).
We truly believe that France needs more events like this, and we are grateful to the entire Japan Expo team for organizing such a fantastic gathering for the community. We sincerely hope this won’t be the last one!
