Haunting Paris with a Mesmerizing Performance

Phantom Siita World Tour: "Moth to a Flame" in Paris

Many of you have already heard about them, especially if you follow Japanese music entertainment. Produced by singer-songwriter Ado, Phantom Siita, is now one of the most well-known idol groups since their debut on June 26, 2024. Mona, Miu, Rinka, Hisui, and Moka were selected through a massive audition involving 4,000 participants, organized by Ado with the backing of her agency, Cloud Nine, at the end of 2023.

The entire concept of the group, starting from the audition process, is based on the idea of a 'retro horror idol' theme. Their name itself is a blend of 'Phantom', symbolizing ghosts and illusions, and ‘Siita’ from the scientific names of two insects: Paransita sita, a butterfly, and Epicopeia hainesii, a moth known for mimicking swallowtail butterflies.

With such a unique concept, Phantom Siita quickly captured the attention of J-music fans worldwide as soon as they released their first digital single, Otomodachi. Throughout 2024, the group released five digital singles, including Kimi to XXXX Shitai dake and Mahou Shoujo, followed by an album compiling all their released songs plus a new track, HANAGATAMI, on October 30, 2024.

Six months after their debut, the group embarked on their first-ever world tour, Moth to a Flame, starting in Asia on January 23, 2025. Then moving on to North America, where the tour ended in Toronto on February 10. The final leg in Europe kicked off in Utrecht and headed to Paris on the night of February 15 at the famous Bataclan venue.

On that night in the City of Lights, all the Haines (Phantom Siita’s fandom) were eager and excited to finally see and hear their idols on stage!

The setlist was a mix of their original songs, Ado covers, and renditions of famous pop idol and city pop songs. Kimi to XXXX Shitai dake, Devilish Girl, Hanabami, and Otome Shinju kicked off the show, while Otomodachi closed the first act right before the encore.

As expected from these five young performers, all the choreographies were flawlessly executed. However, what impressed us the most was their perfect mastery of facial expressions, creating an impressive and captivating theatrical effect, combined with a flawless stage presence.

Each member had a solo performance and covered several famous Japanese songs. Mona delivered a perfect rendition of Aoi Sangoshou by Matsuda Seiko, Rinka performed FANTASY, originally by Nakahara Meiko, Miu chose KICK BACK by Yonezu Kenshi, while Hisui captivated the audience with One Last Kiss by Utada Hikaru, and Moka closed the solo segment with Fly-Day Chinatown by Yasuha.

Just like their producer Ado during her own world tour, the audience was delighted to hear Mayonaka no Door ~ Stay With Me (originally by Matsubara Miki) and Suki Suki Daisuki (by Jun Togawa).

All we can say about these cover performances is that the singing skills of Mona, Rinka, Hisui, Miu, and Moka are simply incredible. They demonstrated real talent and confidence in their voices, seamlessly alternating between low tones and high notes.

The encore included two songs from their senior: Tot Musica and Moonlight Densetsu. Zoku Zoku closed this wonderful night.

Phantom Siita are still new to the Japanese music industry, but with this first world tour, they proved to the world their remarkable ability to maintain a consistently high level of vocal and dance performances, despite a tight schedule and many back-to-back concerts.

They are truly an amazing idol group—and even great artists in the making!

We will continue to follow their journey and adventures in the idol world, both in Japan and around the globe!
